Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation (Thailand)
In Thailand, approximately 5,000 babies are born with congenital heart disease each year, and about 1,500 children with congenital heart disease are left untreated every year. In response to the need to perform the necessary surgeries on these young children, friends and surgeons of the Institute of Cardiovascular Disease at Rajvithi Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand founded the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Foundation in June 1997. The Foundation's goals are to increase the number of heart surgeries performed per year and to provide surgery in time to save more lives. To reach these goals, the current Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Rajvithi Hospital must be expanded in order to accommodate more children. The Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation donated US$20,000 in April 2003, and pledged to donate another US$20,000 in 2004, to help purchase equipment for the expanded ICU. The new unit will allow the hospital to operate on 500 more children annually and to allow the children to recuperate under direct medical supervision. Additionally, the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation donated $10,000 (in June 2001) and $5,000 (in October 2000) to the cause.

Po Leung Kuk
On February 15, 2003, more than 60 Hong Kong distributors and staff members visited the Po Leung Kuk charity and the brand new Nu Skin Family Resources & Services Zone there. They reported that they had a wonderful time playing with the children and observing how the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation grants are helping the families and children in need.

Over the years the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation has made several donations to Po Leung Kuk, a Hong Kong organization committed to helping improve the lives of children. One of the oldest charities in Hong Kong, the Kuk was founded in 1878 with the main objective of "caring for the young and protecting the innocent." In the early days, the Kuk was primarily engaged in suppressing the abduction of women and children and providing shelter for such victims. Over the century, the Kuk has gradually evolved into a diversified organization in line with social and economic changes. Presently under the Kuk's umbrella are more than 155 units throughout the territory, providing social services including welfare (residential care for children, day care for infants, rehabilitation service for the mentally retarded and elderly), education and recreation.

Many schools in rural China are in disrepair and lack basic teaching equipment. In response to this need and to the school drop-out rate in China, The Force for Good Foundation donated approximately US$60,000 to China Project Hope for the construction of a Hope Primary School at Guo Cun Village in Zhejiang Province. Groundbreaking took place in March 2002 and construction will be completed in November 2002. The new three-story school building will serve 620 students living within 10 miles of the village. Additionally, Nu Skin Enterprises will donate textbooks and study materials on an ongoing basis. Solar energy system for Utwa-Walung Marine Park Community Center on Kosrae, Micronesia
Kosrae is one of the least-developed island states of the Federated States of Micronesia. The shores of this 109-square kilometer island are home to pristine mangrove forests protected by the establishment of the Utwa-Walung Marine Park. One of the most striking elements of the park is a large community center. But the center does not have a source of electrical power. Connecting the center to power lines would have been expensive and would have required destroying mangroves, so the Force for Good Foundation, through the Seacology Foundation, provided $22,000 to install a solar energy system in 2000.
