Maria Helena Pauline Assistance House
In December 2006, the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation donated funds to the Maria Helena Pauline Assistance House to be used to enlarge the organization's facilities.
Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH)
The Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation donated funds to VOSH in December 2006 to provide general anesthesia for 100 children receiving eye surgeries in Guatemala in 2007.
Previous donations include:
- Donated funds to help fund pediatric surgeries and eye glasses for children being treated at the Vincent Pescatore Eye Clinic in Guatemala in 2005
- Provided funds for medical equipment for a new eye clinic in the Peten region of Guatemala in 2004
- Provided donation to VOSH which resulted in 410 patient examination, 325 eyeglasses and $4,000 worth of medication was given to patients in 2001
Brazil Cancer Clinic
In November 2004, Nu Skin's Force for Good Foundation presented a grant to a Brazil Cancer Clinic at the Brazil Anniversary Distributor Event. Funds were used to construct a library and play area in a clinic that treats young cancer patients.
Brazil Cooperative of Small Agroextractivists
In 1998, the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation issued a grant to the Brazil Cooperative of Small Agroextractivists via the New York Botanical Gardens. The donation was used to acquire two hectares of land to build a new cooperative. It entailed the construction of a 160-square meter facility to house equipment and presses; the purchase of various machines and equipment to improve the processing facility; repair of the press; and the purchase of a computer. The donation was made through Michael Balick, Director and Philecology Curator at the Institute of Economic Botany of The New York Botanical Garden. Dr. Balick has created several product formulations for Nu Skin Personal Care.
