Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation
CHILD Foundation appoints Melisa Quijano as its first corporate member (August 2009)

On August 19, 2009, the Child Health in Life and Development Foundation (CHILD) appointed Nu Skin South East Asia President, Ms. Melisa Tantoco-Quijano, as its first corporate member. CHILD Foundation is a non-profit organization that primarily gives financial support to the Philippine General Hospital's Department of Pediatrics. The hospital is the largest government healthcare institution in the Philippines.

CHILD Foundation was established in 1988 by a group of doctors from the Philippine General Hospital. It functions mainly as a resource generation for patient's needs, alumni assistance, avenues for research and publication and infrastructure projects. Through the foundation, the Department of Pediatrics is able to channel donations for the needs of its charity patients.

In December 2007, Nu Skin Enterprises' South East Asia Children's Heart Fund (SEA-CHF) through Nu Skin Enterprises Philippines, Inc. established a partnership agreement with CHILD Foundation to sponsor the surgeries of patients from the Philippine General Hospital's Department of Pediatrics. The arrangement was to provide $1,000 per child. Through the fundraising activities initiated by Nu Skin employees and distributors, a total of ten children underwent successful operations in 2008. In 2009, the goal has been to sponsor the surgeries of 15 children.

After almost two years of strong partnership and having recognized Nu Skin's strong commitment and long-term social responsibility in improving the lives of children, the CHILD Foundation, through its Chairman, Dr. Rosa Ma. Nancho, and its President, Dr. Amelia Fernandez, conferred the certification of membership to Ms. Melisa Tantoco-Quijano. Ms. Quijano will join the foundation in expanding its efforts to serve more patients and increase support to the Department of Pediatrics.
