Thanks to generous contributions from Nu Skin distributors and the Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation, in 2009 18 children successfully underwent heart surgery in the Philippines. Partnering with the Child Health in Life and Development (CHILD) Foundation, we provided the funds necessary to save the lives of these children who were diagnosed with congenital heart defects and whose families were unable to pay for the procedure due to economic difficulties.

In 2010, Nu Skin Philippines plans to renew their partnership with CHILD Foundation and provide the funds needed to purchase a two-dimensional echocardiogram (2-D Echo) machine. The 2-D echo is the most basic diagnostic tool for patients with a heart condition. It is used to examine the heart and is capable of displaying a cross-sectional "slice" of the beating heart, including the chambers, valves and the major blood vessels that exit from the left and right ventricle. The Philippine General Hospital is in need of another machine to identify the needs of their patients and to provide the necessary treatments.
