What It’s About

Every child should have access to nutritious food. Since 2006, the Force for Good Foundation has supported Nu Skin Second Harvest Japan (2HJ), the country’s first and largest food bank. This crucial partnership works to directly assist the children most in need.

How It Works

Vulnerable children benefit from key nutritional and learning opportunities through the programs funded by Second Harvest Japan and the Force for Good Foundation. 2HJ collects excess food and distributes it to children in facilities such as foster homes and homes for mothers and children. In addition, Food for Kids, one of 2HJ’s programs operated with Nu Skin, brings volunteers, including Nu Skin employees and members, together to help pack and deliver basic foods to children’s nursing homes and single-parent families, which are constantly short on supplies. And since 2017, the Kids Café program has hosted a cafeteria where needy children can come to eat while receiving learning assistance and enjoying positive social experiences.

Who It Helps

The millions of yen donated in 2017 provided over 7,000 children living in 120 foster homes and single-parent families near Tokyo area with desperately needed food every month. Low-income children benefit daily from these efforts through improved nutrition and educational opportunities.
